GHOST - 2017
"Ghost" is an homage to the iconic fish drying huts scattered through the countryside of Iceland. Anthony was selected as an artist/architect resident at the Baer Art Center in May 2017. This project was inspired by his time at the residency. A photo of the fish drying hut on the Baer site is included here. The design envisions a structure of similar scale and proportions made of glass cladding supported by a light steel structure lightly placed within the natural landscape. It will reflect the changing sky, light and grasses. On a gray day the form will be nearly visible and on a clear sunny day the glass will reflect the changing light. In winter the glass will be layered in snow and ice becoming one with the land. At the ground plane there is a pool of water below a grated deck. This is a reference to the drainage channels found throughout Iceland.
